SUN CITY ORO VALLEY TENNIS CLUB WEBSITE

The Sun City Oro Valley Tennis Club was established many years ago as one of the chartered clubs under the Sun City Oro Valley Association (SCOV).  At the time of this chartering, the club was named the Vistoso Tennis Club.  The purposes of this club are to promote the sport of tennis in our community, to provide an environment of camaraderie and fellowship among members, to organize many different opportunities to play tennis, and to sponsor interclub events with other tennis communities.  Membership is open to any SCOV owner or registered seasonal renter for a nominal annual fee.

SCOV provides a total of eight tennis courts – six at the Mountain Vista tennis facility and two at Desert Oasis. 

• Mountain Vista.  These six courts are lighted, high quality post tensioned hard courts, with shaded benches and a covered patio overlooking the courts.  The courts provide a fantastic view of the Catalina Mountains and are centrally located near the aquatic and fitness center, pickleball courts, golf pro shop, and the Views Restaurant.  A ball machine is available for use by club members.  At the present time, one of the six courts has dual striping for pickleball and temporarily is dedicated exclusively for pickleball, except for posted special tennis events.  The multiple forms of tennis club organized play have priority use of these courts.  The days and times for this organized play are posted on this website.  Any SCOV residents and their guests are welcome to use the courts at times when organized play in not occurring or if a court is available during organized play.
• Desert Oasis.  Two unlighted hard courts are located at Desert Oasis.  These courts have dual use striping for POP tennis, and the POP Tennis Club has these courts reserved for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings.  Except for POP tennis times, SCOV residents may play tennis on these courts by calling the Desert Oasis monitor at 520-825-0495 to make a court reservation.

INFORMATION AND RULES FOR USE OF TENNIS COURTS

ORGANIZED PLAY BY TENNIS CLUB

The Tennis Club has multiple forms of organized play, which have priority use of the courts, including:

• Doubles play during the morning hours of all days, except Sundays.
• Mixed doubles social events on selected Sunday afternoons
• Other groups organized by club members that play on selected days and times

The start and end times for these groups vary by season.  Most such times are published in the tipster, all organized playing arrangements are communicated to club members, and the days and times for all organized play are posted on this tennis club website.

OPEN PLAY

Any SCOV residents and their guests are welcome to use the courts at times when organized play is not occurring or if a court is available during organized play.

RESTRICTED USE OF COURT FOUR

For a temporary period of time, dual striping has been added to court four for two pickleball courts, and portable pickleball nets have been installed.  Except for special tennis event dates and times posted on the entry gate for court four, this court is reserved exclusively for pickleball, and no tennis play is allowed.

APPAREL

Appropriate tennis apparel is required.  Non-marking tennis shoes are mandatory.

GENERAL RESTRICTIONS

No pets, bicycles, tricycles, roller blades, golf shoes, etc. are allowed on the tennis courts.
