SCOV TENNIS NEWSLETTER

ANNOUNCEMENTS!

New Times Are Comin’!

Reset your alarms, tennis players!  Beginning Monday Oct 20th the Monday-Wednesday-Friday AND the Tues-Thursday- Saturday group will begin play at 8:00 AM.  The group playing at 8:30 T-Th-S will move to 10:00 AM.  Slumber a little longer, my friends.

Message from Mark Lankes, SCOV Tennis Club President

Our SCOV Tennis Club is in need of volunteers to provide fresh leadership. The current terms of the President and VP expire at the end of the year and require nominations from our membership. The incumbents will not be renewing their terms.

An opportunity for shared leadership (co-chairs) in these positions is possible. Additionally, the club needs leadership with tournament coordination and social event planning. The club has many valuable volunteers who quietly contribute in important ways but still needs members to step up to these critical leadership roles. The continued existence of the club and its mission require this leadership.

Feel free to discuss potential interest with any of the club board members.  To see openings and get more information, click here.

We Need Your Balls!

The new ball machine has been getting a lot of use. Everyone seems to agree it’s a great machine! But a lot of use leads to dead balls. The Club just bought three cases of new balls for the machine. Now we all need to get in the habit of adding slightly used balls to the machine. Soon there will be a can near the picnic table at the courts labeled “Used Balls for Ball Machine”. After you have used a can of balls a time or two, toss them in there. Those will get added to the machine and the oldest dead balls from the ball machine will get put in the recycle bin.  Thanks for contributing!

Check Out Our Sponsors!

We all have our favorite contractors, venders, etc. Why not get them some broader exposure? Ask them to be a sponsor for our tennis club and get their ad up on our website. And if you need a contractor or service, try out our current sponsors. They are there because your fellow club members have used them!
