It went all Western at the December 6, 2025 Annual SCOV Tennis Club Meeting and Dinner! New board members elected (see list below), lots of updates on SCOV Tennis Club, games, dancing, and some pretty tasty vittles!
Mixed Doubles Tournament!
Based on membership comments, a revised format will be used for the January Mixed Doubles Tournament. Three
different skill level divisions, players pick their own partners and skill division with single elimination. Tournament consists of semi-finals on Friday January 23 and finals on January 25. Sign ups will be available on the website or at the court bulletin board on Friday January 2. For details – click here
Important Announcement
Tennis Court Cleaning. The courts will be undergoing their “twice a year” thorough cleaning starting on Monday, January 5, 2026. It is anticipated that the courts will be out of service for 4 days. Anyone wishing to play during that period can use the courts at Desert Oasis when not scheduled for Pop Tennis play.
The Tennis Clinics Are Back! Beginning January 2026, the SCOV Tennis club will offer tennis clinics once a week to any club member wishing to learn new tennis skills and improve their overall knowledge of the game. Each weekly session will be held at the Mountain Vista tennis courts from 12:30-1:45 pm Fridays. Click here for more information!
Ladies! Mark Your Calendars for January 5, 2026 Happy Hour!
The Ladies of SCOV Tennis Happy Hour on December 1st was a huge success! Don’t worry men, we only talked about your tennis game for the first few minutes. Fun was had by all so mark your calendars for the next upcoming Happy Hour, January 5, 2026 at The Views, 4:30 pm. All future Happy Hours will be the first Monday of every month. See you there!

At the Annual Membership Meeting on Dec. 6th the board elections were held. The SCOV Tennis Club Board for 2026 will be:
- Randy Harvey – President (1 Year Term)
- Karen Burnham – Vice – President (2 Year Term)
- John Blaize – Treasurer (2 Year Term)
- Sally Schuneman – Secretary (1 Year Term)
- Karen Tuke – At-large Member (2 Year Term)
- Tom Silverio – At Large Member (2 Year Term)
- Martha Browatzki – At-Large Member (Completing last year of 2 Year Term

- Sponsor Solicitation. The Sponsor Solicitation program went very well this year. Big shout out to everyone who reached out to vendors, and to Jim Szidik and Randy Harvey for doing all the back room stuff. Now we all need to pay attention to the sponsor ads on our website so the vendors benefit from their ads and will be anxious to resubscribe again next year.
- Women’s Interclub. SCOV Tennis Club Women’s Interclub team is playing La Paloma at home on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Come on out and cheer loud and proud for our Interclub Team!
- SCOV Tennis Club Iron On. Don’t forget to order your SCOV Tennis Club Iron On! Can be ironed onto your favorite tennis shirt. Or your shorts…
