Details for the 2026 Mixed Doubles Tournament
When:
○ SEMI-FINALS – Friday, January 23 at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm
○ FINALS – Sunday, January 25th at 11:00 am
Tournament Details:

- The Tournament will be three divisions with up to 8 teams in each division.
- The divisions will be established by skill level:
- Mt Lemmon Division – This division is for those who like a harder hitting, fast paced, more advanced game.
- Pusch Peak Division – This division is for those who like a competitive game but feel more comfortable with a finesse and shorter rallies in their gameplay.
- Mt Kimball Division – This division is for players who may not be comfortable with competitive play or have never entered competitive play or may just be coming back from an injury, or just enjoy the game.
- The Teams – Players pick their partners (age not a factor) – 1 man and 1 woman is a team.
- Each team chooses its own level of play / Division.
- Players who cannot find a partner should request committee help to identify a partner.
- Important! – the last date for a team to sign up is Monday January 12th at Noon.
Entry Fee / Charitable Donation – Sign up on court bulletin board or on website starting Friday January 2. Entry fee is $5.00 per person.
Donations for the Casa Amigas charity above and beyond entry fees are encouraged from all club members and spectators.
Rules of Play
Selections of Opponents – this will be done by random draw in each division by the committee, there will be NO SEEDING.
Posting of Division Brackets – posting of all 3 brackets will be posted on the Mountain Vista Tennis Courts bulletin board as of Wednesday, January 14th as well as scovtennis.com.
“PLAY-IN” if needed – Should more than 4 teams register in a division, one PLAY-IN match will be needed to determine which teams reach the semifinals. Teams and opponent pairings, if necessary, will be selected by random draw.
PLAY-IN matches will be setup directly by the teams playing and must be completed by January 22nd.
All teams scheduled to PLAY-IN should contact their opponents and arrange their matches as soon as possible.
Please notify a committee member of your scheduled PLAY-IN match.
Matches – will be best 2 out of 3 sets.
Set 3 – is a 10 point Coman tiebreaker to be played in all matches.
Sets 1 & 2 – If tied 6-6 a 7 point tiebreaker will be played in all matches.
Deuce Points – if a game goes to deuce – gender will serve to gender on the 2nd deuce point to decide the game.
Matches will be SINGLE Elimination – winners move on, losers become spectators.
Tennis Balls – Each team shall bring a NEW can of balls for any play-in and semi-final matches. The losing team shall receive the remaining NEW can of balls.
Your club dues will be used to supply new balls for the final matches.
