SCOV Tennis Club Play Group Opportunities as of November 2025
The following descriptions are provided to enable club members or new residents to self select play groups. The club does not rate players nor exclude any member from any group. Some participants participate in multiple play groups.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 8:00 AM
Recreational Mixed Doubles (formerly women’s group but now available to both men and women), courts 1,2,3-players first arriving play a mini-set followed by rotation of positions after each game.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday – 8:00 AM
Casual Mixed Doubles, (formerly men’s group but now available to both men and women), courts 1,2,3-players first arriving play a mini-set followed by rotation of positions after each game. Great place to start out and see where your game is.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday – 8:30 AM
Drop-In Mixed Competitive, courts 5,6- intended for advanced players to reduce court waiting time for the later group. The format and rotation are determined each session by the number of participants and their preferences. Mostly doubles play, but singles is sometimes available depending on number and preferences of participants.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: – 10:00 AM
Intermediate Mixed Doubles, courts 1,2,3,5,6- our most popular play group, attracts players with a wide range of abilities. Partners and their competition are initially assigned by random draw, play a mini-set then rotate to other courts and/or different partners and opponents.
Wednesday – 2:00 PM
Mixed Singles or Doubles Sign Up, courts 2,3-the club’s most advanced players group, participants sign up in advance, through Sign Up Genius, for singles or doubles play. Two or three full sets, with partners generally rotating after each set. Players have the option for a rematch if it is competitive and all agree. Sign up here.
Monday – 1:00 PM
Intermediate Mixed Doubles by Invitation, courts 1,2,3,5,-players are assigned in advance for play slots by the coordinator. Each player is randomly assigned a number for assignment and rotation of partners and competitors. Rotations occur after completion of a mini set.
