Ron Martin
(December 10, 1943 – December 23, 2025)
Ron began his baseball life at age 8 and played thru school eventually attending the University of Washington on a full ride scholarship as a pitcher. After getting his masters degree he went on to teach high school math with an emphasis on college prep classes along with being a baseball coach for 40+ years in the Edmonds School District, north of Seattle. A very successful career followed with 72 players drafted into the major leagues, two State Tournament Titles and later being inducted into the Washington State Hall of Fame.
He came to Arizona, with his wife Carolyn, in 2006 as a snowbird and it became their permanent home in 2019, Tennis was a big part of his life and he was the Tennis Club Board President during 2014,2015, 2020 and 2021. He was an active participant in all the tournaments as well as USTA events. He loved to sit and chat with the guys and thoroughly enjoyed all the friendships along the way. He was very kind and respectful to all with a great sense of humor.
With his love of sports he had season tickets to the U of Arizona basketball games which he enjoyed but always kept up with the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks and, of course, the Washington Huskies sports.
A memorial service will be held in June 2026 in Seattle.
