Board Meeting Minutes – Feb 2026
SCOV Tennis Club Board Meeting – Thursday February 5, 2026 Desert Oasis Time 3:00 p.m.
In attendance: Randy Harvey President, Karen Burnham Vice President, Sally Schuneman Secretary, John Blaize Treasurer, Tom Silverio Web Master, at-Large Martha Browatzki, Karen Tuke
- Secretary’s January Report Submitted and approved.
- Treasurer’s Report received from John Blaize reviewed and approved. The balance as
- of January 31st was $9,426.
4. Mariachi Concert Plans were gone over and approved assigned people will sell ticketsat the courts and three days at the activity center. $125 will be paid to the monitor for the Audio, Jim Benshoof will provide opening remarks and ask for donations to the Mariachi group.
5. Mixed Doubles Tournament contributions were very good $1158 plus $350 from club. Tennis and the tournament was well attended with coffee and great food.
6. Men’s round robin Finals are on February 22nd. Please sign up.
7. University of Arizona tennis matches February through April 9th find out who we are playing at the web site. Want to share a ride call Karen Burnham
8. April 10th Spring Social at Catalina Vista 3 grills have been reserved. A cheerful get together with tennis friends. Using colorful plastic tablecloths.
9. Club LOGO Clothing will have the logo “for the love of the Game” and can be purchased from Martha and Marybeth. Karen Tuke has also designed one for posters and letterhead.
10. We need someone to help get leads and suggestions for new Sponsors. Randy will help.
11. Fab and Forty- Randy received approval for Sandy Seddon to consider Senior
Olympics to be held on our Courts. Ed Peters is pursuing this with local organizers, and Fab and Forty Organizers for next year. Considering Gift Baskets with balls, gift certificates and other tennis items any ideas get hold of Ed.
12. Use of Ball Machine – No one should have a code unless trained by Al Oakland or John Reihm. That user of the ball machine cannot only be a guest (member must be with them at all times.
13. Court lights for all courts discussed, plans depend on HOA funding.
14. A New tennis net for Court 5 is in the process.
15. Bereavement communication plan email upon request of family member.
16. Club Record Retention Policy keep minutes and financial for 7 years Completed
17. Shoe donation to Sandy Fritz place in tennis room at court new and used all welcome.
18. Pickleball Courts 6&7 to post reserved for no play during certain events.
19. Club Fair Feb.17th to reserve tables and bring info concerning tennis and our website
